In China, women surveyed prior to HERproject displayed a good knowledge of general health issues but were not always aware of how to eat healthily and meet
their nutritional needs. In particular, before the training, a significant number of women reported that they were not eating meat, fruit and vegetables at
least once a week. An imbalanced diet can lead to low energy levels and an increased susceptibility to disease. In addition, a lack of knowledge about nutrition
may be passed on to children, leading to problems with infant growth and development.
